Class Description: This twenty (20) hour class is designed to cover a wide range of topics that are pertinent to identifying an ECG rhythm.
The course will start by covering anatomy and physiology of the heart to allow the student to have a better understanding of the physiology of the cardiac rhythm.
The course will also cover how to identify sinus; atrial; junctional; heart block; and ventricular rhythms, the casues of each along with signs and symptoms.
The course will include a significant amount of time interpreting cardiac rhythms, and what treatment approach would be most beneficial for the patient.

Class Objectives: Demonstrate lead placement for 3 lead ECG *identify normal 3 lead vace forms, configurations and normal intervals and what they represent in the cardiac cycle *understand the basic physiology principles of the heart and cardiac rhythms *recognize sinus; atrial; junctional; heart block and ventricular rhythms * recognize signs and symptoms of specific cardiac events *develop a treatment plan for the patient.
This course can serve as a preparation for the ACLS course.
