ACLS Recertification Course

Class Description:
This course focuses on helping healthcare providers improve/review their knowledge and skills related to the most common cardiopulmonary emergencies while following the new 2005 AHA Guidelines.

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A WRITTEN AND A RHYTHM EXAM. YOU MUST HOLD A CURRENT ACLS CARD TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COURSE.

Class Objectives:

After completion the participant will be able to:

  • Successfully demonstrate proper CPR according to AHA guidelines.
  • Successfully demonstrate use of the AED in a mock situation.
  • Successfully demonstrate management of a patients airway using a number of different methods.
  • Successfully lead a team to manage the first 10 minutes of a ventricular fibrillation / pulseless ventricular tachycardia arrest scenario.
  • Successfully pass a written evaluation with a score of 84% or greater.
  • Successfully pass a rhythm strip evaluation with a score of 85% or greater.


YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT ACLS CARD IN ORDER TO TAKE THIS CLASS.

Intended Audience: The course is designed for medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

Providers who intend to take a renewal course are expected to have a current Provider card to participate in a renewal course.
